Because of the lack of time that I had in Buenos Aires and the distance that Bariloche is from Salta (a 2 day drive), Gabriel and I decided to fly to Bariloche, which is a small city in a beautiful lake region of Patagonia (the southern part of Argentina) that sort of reminded me of Lake Tahoe in Northern California. In Bariloche we went hiking up to Cerro Campanario (which National Geographic voted as one of the top 10 views in the world), mountain biking around the lakes, chocolate tasting, (we bought about $80 worth of chocolate…it was SOOO good), relaxed in the city and rented a car for 2 days where we drove over to Puerto Varas, Chile, another small beautiful town on a lake with a volcano across from it where I ate at the best restaurant I have been to in my young life. When I went to take money out in Chile, I found out that all $1800 left in my bank account was stolen within 1 hr by some person in France who had skimmed a machine that I had used in Peru or Bolivian and had gotten all of my debit card information. (I did eventually get my money back from Citibank but for the rest of the trip I was broke and had to borrow the little amount of pesos left that Gabriel had brought with him for the continuation of my trip to El Calafate, solo).
The Largest Milanesa I have ever seen in Argentina!
