We
only had 3 full days in Salta because of the 2 days that we lost in Bolivia. 2
of those 3 days in Salta I spent the whole day sleeping in the hostel. After
not feeling any better and still throwing up after 1 day, the guys called a
doctor to come to the hostile and check me out. (Doctor’s in Argentina do this
for 60 pesos, which is around $10). The doctor’s gave me a shot in the butt to
help the vomiting, a tablespoon of salt under my tongue to raise my blood
pressure and told me to call them back in a day if I’m still not feeling any
better. The next day while the guys and an Italian friend, Camila from school
in Buenos Aires, went wine tasting and exploring the beautiful area of
Cafayete, I spent the entire day in the hostile sleeping, but the next day I started
feeling a little bit better. We then decided to go to a bed/breakfast resort on our final day
to make up for the horrible hostels we had been staying at the last week in La Paz, Uyuni and Salta, in order to really enjoy the last segment of our trip all together before
John and Trey went back to Texas while Gabriel and I continued on to Bariloche.
The resort was great. We had horses in our backyard, a private spa, Jacuzzi
and Sauna, and the best part of it all was that we were the only ones there, so
there were 5 people working for just the four of us. They even had to call in
the cook come in the evening just for us.
(Because I was sick and stayed in the hostile, I don't have photos from my personal experience of the trip, but for your sake of seeing a bit of Salta, I will put some in that the guys took)
CAFAYETE
Our Bed and Breakfast Resort...the one thing I did experience.
